How to Create a FREE-TIER AWS Account

In this article, I'll guide you through the process of creating an AWS account to support your DevOps journey.

Prerequisites

Before you start, make sure you have the following:

  1. Credit/Debit Card (Visa/Master/American Express)

  2. Email Address

  3. Mobile Number

  4. PAN Card (Optional)

Steps to Create an AWS Account

Step 1: Begin Registration

Start by visiting the AWS registration page: AWS Signup Here, you will need to enter your email address and account name. After that, click on "Verify Email ID."

An OTP will be sent to your email.

Once you receive the OTP, enter it to verify your email address.

After verification, AWS will prompt you to set a password for your account.

Note: Your password must include uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.

Step 2: Provide Contact Information

In this step, you’ll provide your contact information. You can select either "Business" or "Personal"; for this guide, we recommend choosing "Personal."

Fill in your full name, phone number, and country. Enter your address in the designated field.

Be sure to tick the box agreeing to the AWS Customer Agreement and then select "Continue" to proceed.

Step 3: Enter Billing Information

Next, you'll need to provide your billing information. Enter your credit or debit card details, ensuring that the card has international transaction access.

If you have a PAN card, you can enter that information; otherwise, you can skip this step.

Click "Continue" to proceed.

You will receive an OTP on your mobile number; enter this OTP to verify your billing information.

Note: If the transaction fails, it may indicate that your card does not have international transaction access. In that case, please enable this feature for your card.

Step 4: Confirm Your Identity

In this step, provide your mobile number again and complete the security check.

AWS will send a 4-digit OTP to your mobile device; enter this code to verify your identity. Once verified, you will proceed to the next page where you’ll select the purpose of your account.

Step 5: Choose Account Type

Finally, select the type of account you wish to create.

Opt for the "Basic Support Free Account." After completing this step, you will be directed to your AWS dashboard.

Congratulations! Your AWS account has been successfully created, and you're now ready to explore the services available to you on the AWS Free Tier.

Happy cloud computing!
